Artists themselves are, on occasion, great collectors
of material and ephemera. To all intents and purposes these artists are
themselves not only archivists, but also archives and repositories of knowledge
and information.
Eddie Chambers, Art Historian
An unofficial archive, containing 300 years of history from Bryan Edwards'
Map of Barbados, 1794 to the present day. Records range from publications,
photocopies, postcards and Finnish sweet wrappers through to recently created
digital files. Increasingly, these records are being put online, making
them universally accessible.
